Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil ??

I applied the leatherique rejuvenator oil to the bucket seat on my 964. Let it soak in overnight. Applied cleaner as directed and noticed something flaking off. Turns out previous owner must of dyed seats and the leatherique pulled it off. Anyone else have a similar problem.

There are leather 'paints' now a days and they will eventually flake off like paint if constantly flexed like a seat is....most modern leather is also 'painted' but properly prepped and it is the initial application and my manual warns against using leather products on the finish...clean with a damp cloth.

You will now see the original leather....trying to dye it after an oil soaking is an issue too...wear dark pants.

Apparently this stuff won't flake off. It was suggested to me by George Beuselinck, one of the PCA tech guys for the 944 cars.

Yes, good stuff. They also make a leather conditioner called “Soffener” that can restore cardboard stiff leather to soft & supple. Certainly did a great job of restoring my 993 seats.
