Got my brand new Fuchs 16x7 yesterday

Happy birthday to me. It's beautiful!

Painting the center Grand Prix White will run me about $125

I had a couple questions about where these are from. www.fuchsfelgeusa.com , the USA distributor for Fuchs.

$650 for your 16x7.
What would the dealer charge?

Even at the cheapest dealer I've found, they're over $1000.

I'm confused - are these true "Fuchs"?

Whatever you do....don't paint the centers white. Too much 80's. Either stock, black or RSR style is preferable. The wheels will have little value to anyone if painted white.

These wheels are made by Fuchs, so I would consider them "real.". And somehow, in their new forging process, Fuchs has managed to shave another 700 or 800 gm from the final weight.

There not real Fuchs. They don’t have Porsche part number on the wheel. But they’re real close to original mold.

uhm... Fuchs make Fuchs for Porsche; not the other way around.

Selling direct - that is great news.

Wrong actually...they are real Fuchs made by Fuchs....but Porsche no longer uses them in production so no P #.... that does not make them faux.

I'd say it's the other way. They are real Fuchs, by the original manufacturer. But they are not Porsche-marked Fuchs.

That's why they are cheaper...

Wow. A sight to behold. Those look like a perfect birthday present....thinking if I ordered a pair of 8" x 16"... and how damn long that might take, I believe these are back ordered? Right?
...but then again my birthday is mid-Winter 2020 so maybe they will arrive just in time for that? Any idea on how possible it is to order these wheels? What about instant gratification?
Does it have to actually be your birthday to get them? ; )

Maybe I should just run the 7"/8" x 15" set I already have, for now, if only I can decide on WHAT tires.
Decisions.

Wrong fellas! It’s not a Porsche approved wheel. And Porsche is making Fuchs wheels from there Porsche classic line. Porsche owns the mold to fuchs wheel. The reason why there’s no Porsche part number stamped on the fuchsfelge.

But I agree it’s a great looking wheel!

My other three are white. It was that way stock. And I don't like how the car looks otherwise.
Here's a pic that its second owner from the early 90's sent me a few weeks back. Circa 1992. We'll be meeting him when he returns to Canada from Croatia.

They are, indeed. And they are forged. I've contacted Fuchs directly about them to make sure.
For several hundred dollars less than a "Porsche wheel," I can deal without the Porsche part number being stamped on it. Especially for a new wheel without age stress.

It's in paint now. Will be finished this week.

Porsche is producing new Fuchs from there classic line. Only a certain amount per year. I feel more comfortable buying original parts for my Porsche. I try and keep everything original.
I just received my new Fuchs from Porsche classic. No age stress to worry about
