Splitting Calipers

The on going restoration continues!!!
I am now at the point of rebuilding the brake calipers and after speaking to my local Porsche Dealer - the o-seal and between the two caliper halves and the fasteners used to bolt the two caliper halves together are not available or listed by Porsche - basically I don't think they want you to split the calipers.
Has anyone got any ideas where I can obtain the parts required?
The car is an 85 3.2 Carrera.

Why do you want to split the calipers, are they leaking?

Most folks don't in a rebuild. Just the seals in the pistons, and the dust boot thing.

Unless the calipers are leaking at the parting line ... there isn't any reason to split the halves. Are they leaking there?

Plan was to get the calipers either acid dipped or bead blasted to remove all corrosion then get them powder coated or plated to original finish.
I thought any of the above would either fry or melt to internal o-seal.

Look at this thread for info about the seal.

I've got a set of front calipers that I plan to rebuild and powdercoat (I'll get around to it eventually!). I've been pondering whether to split them or not but I think I'm just going to go for the powdercoat. Otherwise it would be a case of powdercoating the parts of the caliper seperately and then rebuilding them. I'm sure I would end up ruining the finish going this route!

The guy in this tech article powdercoated his calipers without even removing the pistons.

Superb - just the bolts to find now!

Glasgow 911SC - I had my wheels and suspension parts powdercoated - the finish appears very tough - I think a simular coating on the calipers would be very long lasting. The problem now is the calipers look crap along side all the shiny parts!!!!
