911E Build Advice

First time posting to this community of 911’s
And was looking for some advice. Acquired a 1970 911e coupe very solid car mostly all there
But engine. Here is my dilemma.

A - build Hotrod 911t engine carbs e cams etc.
B - try to piece engine to be period correct $
C - wait for complete Period engine to pop up.

As we all know that can be expensive.
Due to budget was planning in 2-3 year goal.

Before I go buying parts, was looking for any advice.
Thanks

I’ve got a running 1970 911 E engine and gearbox I’ll sell. It’s on Weber idt 40s. I will sell it with or without the carbs. I don’t have the mfi for it.

Blue/yellow wire usually goes to bottom fuse for sportomatic.
Middle fuse is for relays

I know a few people that keep a fuse there to use as a spare for the other ones. Just a handy fuse holder.

911eproject, what about option d -- drop in a 3.2l Carrera engine (or a 3.0l SC engine) and enjoy a healthy power boost? -- can always revert back to period-correct, etc. if the proper engine comes up (and recoup much of your investment in a 3.2 or 3l)

It crossed my mind to do that, but might need 915 trans. Instead of 901. Based on prices for such engines 15k or so with 915. Lots of engine options.
Ebay has 72-73 complete mfi engine cores for about 8k but it would not be period correct.
I Want car as long term vehicle.

Thanks! Input guys

Be as period correct as possible. and if it's not really the car you want sell it for a ridiculously high amount of money and buy yourself a very tidy SC or 3.2
