 to this  I'm fine but the car is totaled.

Story is, pedestrian stepped into the crosswalk without activating the crossing lights, dangerous cross walk. Mini Van ahead of me hard on the brakes. Just couldn't stop in time.
No Air Bags. I have a problem with Air Bags not going off. I totaled my '07 Ranger in Feb. of last year. Spent two days in the hospital, but no air bags. I have the scars to prove it.

Ouch! Sorry for your loss. But there may be an upside...
Stick a sealed beam headlight in the drivers fender, drill a hole in the low point of the frunk to let the water out and you have a market for a daily driver in New Orleans. Stenciling a "Do Not Walk" sign on the hood is optional. |

Hard to believe that is a total on what looks to be a light hit, will make a great builder for someone, if normal miles.

Look into the small print of the law (maybe the pedestrian can pay for it).
In New Zealand if the car is within 20 meters of the pedestrian crossing the pedestrian has to wait. The law is designed to stop this very thing from happening. Plus it doesn't hurt the pedestrian take a couple of extra seconds in their very busy lives to just wait a moment. I don't think NZ pedestrians or car drivers know this detail. |

The quote for repairs was over $20K exceeds the value of the car.
As for my last name, yes, I always said I wanted to open a body shop. But who would go to Dent's Body Shop. That's like having your engine rebuilt by Rod Knock.
