85 911 Won’t Start

Greetings,
It’s been a while since I last posted. It’s also been a while since I started my 85. Today I attempted to start it, the lights glow but all I get is a clicking noise. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Have a multimeter? Check battery voltage. When fully charged, it should be at 12.6 volts. If low, either charge it up or use jumper cables to get it going. Still not going? check your cables for corrosion including the grounding strap. A low battery can make your lights glow, but the starter needs much more to crank the engine.

I cleaned the posts and cables. I turned the ignition and lights on, the multimeter read 8.86. The battery (Interstate) is 6+ years old and has been living on a battery tender for a while. It maybe time for a new battery.
