Issues with new dash
Just a heads of to anyone considering a new dash for their '69 to'75 (I think that's right). I decided to do the "period correct" thing and ordered 911.552.031.04709 for my '70. Great looking dash and was happy with the purchase until today.
After a couple hours of taking my time, widening slots for the studs, cutting down the studs on the speaker grille, cutting slots in the top of the dash so the speaker grille nuts would allow the dash to sit level (none of which you should have to do with a Porsche part, but it looks like they farmed this out to the low cost bidder)......I managed to break the cheap plastic dash on the passenger side. Looks like epoxy is going to save me....it's drying now and you can't tell from the top. If I had it to do over again I would have spent whatever it took to get the one year only, '76 dash that came with the car recovered. By the way, it will most likely show up in the classifieds in the next few days. You have been warned! Jeff

Yup. POS all of them. And I need one too, for my 69. Last one I got, had to do the same mods as you did, the speaker grille holes were all cattywompus, none in a straight line, and you could stick your thumb in the gap between the dash and the door tops.

I bought one for my 75. I broke a stud putting it in. They don't fit for ____.

We replaced ours also, 75, poor fit at best. Less bolts than original so it fits a little loose.

Really good to know. I have one still in the box in my closet upstairs. My '72 T comes back from the paint shop in a couple of weeks. My original dash is a lost cause (decades of SW desert sun), so I will expect to have to rework this one and won't get in a hurry.
