I’m back!

Hi All
It's been a while since I’ve posted. As some of you may recall, my 1978 911 sc was totaled. I stumbled across a nice deal on an all stock 1981, I just had to pull the trigger. I am back and I’m so excited. I love the car. it’s straight and clean. Not my first choice in color, but that is subjective. What is objective is the cars in good shape. It has two broken head studs which the seller disclosed. So while I am in there I will send out the heads, pistons and cylinder to be rebuilt, honed and re ringed.
I have searched and researched but would like your opinions on head stud kits.

Timmy, Tony, Bob Kontak, Mr. Brown, and of course John Walker (my apologies if I forgot anyone else) awesome to be back.

Gary

Welcome back!

Make yourself at home. There’s beer in fridge in the garage.

Beautiful car........

Gary,

That is my favorite color. I will buy your new car anytime you change your mind. Depending how many miles you have on the odometer, a top end rebuild is probably what you need. Congratulation for finding your new toy.

Tony

Glad to see you back in a 911. Didn't learn the first time.

Thanks all. The color is growing on me.
To your point Tony, I am going to do a top end rebuild on it.
What type of head studs do you recommend?
My thought is to do all 24 with steel head studs.
I do not plan on racing the car and will just be doing some spirited weekend drives and occasional drives to work.
Thanks again and it truly is wonderful to be back in the game.

I was tempted by that car, good buy. Platinum paint with brown interior is a classic combo.

Just replace the bottom studs with stock steel. They work just fine.
