964 wheels on 911 possible?

has anyone used spacers to fit 964 wheels (17x8 ET45 front 17x9.5 ET40 rear) on a narrow body 911?

9.5 rears are a tight squeeze (shave bolt heads, relocate oil lines, suspension/tire selection critical) in a G body. Gotta guess they won't fit a narrow (F) body.

By n/b do you mean '69-77 or SC/Carrera?

If the latter then yes
8 on a 911 front wants an Et~27+/- for a comfortable fit w/ 225/45x17 tires, so a 964 8ET52 wheel would use a 25mm spacer(52 or 52,3 is the correct ET for 964 8)

9.5 on a 911SC/Carrera rear wants ET19, so for a 964ET68 use a 49mm spacer(68 is the correct ET for the oe 964 9.5)caveats use no bigger than a 255/40 x17 tire, if you do the trailing arm bolts will need to be trimmed , the oil line will need to be moved or flattened for any tire w/ the possible exception of a 245/40 x17

thanks bill. apprecaite the response. yes, the later - SC/Carrera.

based on your 964 numbers, I wonder if the wheels I mentioned are 964. that said, it seems they can work but will require the proper F/R spacer.

For those who are on the fence about the knowledge/Porsche information Mr. Verburg has, you only need to look at the things he posts. He recently assisted me in my "quest" to update the wheels on my SC. Regrettably, I ordered the wheels, last week, which is apparently about 4 weeks too late from Germany. God only knows when they'll be delivered. . . It's probably time to switch to Tecate beer and forget Corona.

Yes, if those are the true ETs, they are not 964 wheels, adjust the spacers accordingly

A friend got a screaming deal on these 993 16s for his SC, They are 7ET55 & 8ET70, for the SC he uses 31mm front and 59mm spacers rear, They look spectacular
