Source for 3.2L idle stabilizer rubber hoses
Hello,
I've noticed some cracks in the rubber hose feeding the idle stabilizer on my 3.2L engine - see parts #34 & 38 in the attached diagram. The part numbers are: #34 - 930.110.665.00 #38 - 930.110.589.02 When I type the #'s into the pelican search engine, the response is NLA. I've found them listed on a competitor's site, but they don't have them in stock and would have to order them directly from Porsche, and they were not able to tell me if Porsche had them in stock either. I have to believe that I'm not the only one who's run into these aging rubber items on their 3.2L cars... I'm curious if anyone can share another source. Thanks, Tom ![]()

They are available from the dealer - sunset has them for something like $35 and $65.
A few years ago someone posted here with some replacements from NAPA. I bought some back then and just finally installed them last weekend. They are the right diameter but a little long, so you just need to cut them down a bit. I think they were under $10 each. Edit: Here's the post: What a difference - 3.2 ICV cleaning! Looks like they are $13 and $14.

Thank you for the tip and for posting the link, I wasn't able to track it down earlier...
I did read a comment by John Walker in my searching where he suggested using a piece of electrical heat-shrink tubing over rubber lines to cover cracks etc... I don't know that this would work over severely cracked and deteriorated hose, but I may try this first as it's cheap and my hoses are just beginning to show their age. Thanks again, Tom

I'd just order the correct parts from a reputable vendor. Don't muck about with sort of fitting items :-)

FWIW, mine looked pretty cracked and ugly on the outside, but when i removed them I was able to see that they hadn't actually cracked through and started leaking. (My ICV was pretty leaky though... when I smoke tested the intake, smoke started coming out around the electrical connector.)
It wasn't really about the cost when i bought these hoses, as the genuine ones were NLA at the time. Not sure I'd pay the extra $73 for the real ones now, but to each their own.

Here's the post on the earlier thread -
What a difference - 3.2 ICV cleaning! Like KTL mentioned, they aren't rated for oil, but I haven't had any issues so far. Mike

To close the loop on this, I ordered the parts from Sunset Porsche (sorry Pelican). They don't have them in stock, but I was told they could get them w/in the week from Porsche who does have them in stock.
Cost was: 930-110-589-02 = $26.37 930-110-665-00 = $31.44 If that doesn't end up working out, I will give try JW's trick of covering my existing hoses with heat shrink tubing and then will try the NAPA parts... Hoping it won't come to that though. Tom

There are many cars that use the Bosch ICV, some use the same hoses. Check with BMW, VW etc.
