Replacement ROLL PIN for pedal box rebuild?
Rebuilding my pedal box during the quarantine and have run into a problem. Everything was easy to disassemble, clean, repaint, etc. Reassembly with new bronze bushings was going very smoothly until it came time to insert the new roll pin. It seems impossible to get it started, almost like it is a size too large. Is this typical for this part? I've tried the normal drift and vise grip tricks. Any tips for inserting the replacement roll pin? Would placing it in the freezer for a few hours help?
Car is a 1971 911 T Targa.

I did mine a few years ago and it was quite tight and required substantial persuasion to seat it. But I don't recall problems getting it started. Freezer is worth a try, maybe even dry ice Good luck

Grind a bit of a bevel on one end to help it get started.

An air hammer with a flat tipped bit will get it in there.
