TPR (throttle positioning regulator)........
Seeking help from 75 CIS owners. I need some pictures of a 75 CIS engine that shows this side of the motor. Particularly a view like below:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585850857.jpg The picture above is a late SC ROW engine and using it as a view sample. There are some discrepancies regarding TPR I like to investigate regarding CIS information. Thanks. Tony |
Hi Tony what exactly are you after??

Tony,
I just dropped a 75 CIS this morning and I'm headed back out to work on it. I'll take a couple of pix and post. regards, al |
According to Jims CIS Primer, US models dropped it in '75 with WUR change, but not till '76 on Euro models.

1976 CIS motor.......

John, Thank you for the time posting the pictures of 76 CIS engine. I am investigating the 75 CIS motor for TPR. People have been mentioning that the 75 CIS dont have TPR. But my documentation and experience prove otherwise. So I am intrigued by this discrepancy. This is the reason I am seeking help to get to the bottom of this anomaly. Tony |

May have also been a change during 75 production.

Great pictures.......

The pictures show no TPR for the 75 CIS. Glad you have pictures to convince me. However, how do you explain for some of the 75 CIS that have TPR? I have seen them and not imagining things up. Maybe the change was made during production dates? Thanks a lot. Tony |
I see the TPR actuating rod still on the throttle body, maybe they changed the WUR to vacuuum.

Critical document.........

Ed, This is a very important and critical document regarding the TPR discrepancy. This shows that TPR existed in model year 74~75. Maybe not for the whole 1975 production (?). I agree with you that a change was done during the production. Thank you for sharing this document. Tony |
Porsches documentation is rough, and they seem to have a habit of changing things during produtction. Als does not show the TPR, just the white shaft it would go on. You can see in the image from one of Bosh's manual I posted in previous post, they show 2 different options. I have 2 complete 73.5 CIS systems. One early one has air flow sensor 0 438 120 002, and end of production 0 438 120 004

My 75 was very original. No TPS on my motor.. It's an early 75 with the 4 bolt half shafts. I also wonder if CA delivery had anything to do with it? Mine was CA delivery with Thermal reactors, EGR, long airbox snout.

Need side view..........
Al,
Could you post a picture of your 75 motor from the driver side view. Interested to confirm where this vacuum hose is connected. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585917299.jpg Thanks. Tony |
Tony,
The engine is now disassembled down to the long block stage.....but i did remove the intake in one piece so I'll take a pic today and post..... regards, al |

Thanks for the additional pictures........
Al,
Thank you for posting the pictures. They really helped me a lot straighten some of the lingering questions in my mind. Stay safe. Tony |
tony,
Glad to help...just happened to have the right engine at the right time. Stay safe/healthy regards, al |
Weren't there 2 models in 1975, 911/43 USA and 911/44 California only? Not to mention that there were Euro models also.
What engine type is yours Al? Did they have the same WUR? I believe that the Cali car was 5hp less also. Were there still 3 US options, 911(green shroud), 911S, Carrera? |
