low pressure warning wire route
can some one explain to me the route the ground wire takes from low oil pressure (triangle of death) switch to the dash..i am investigating a possible wiring issue as i dont get ground at the dash and before going into a partial drop etc, i d like to look at that wire to see if its intact
from engine bay it goes to driver side main harness? where does that harness run inside the passenger compartment to get to the dash? pics always helpful thanks |

It goes from the switch to the 14 pin connector in the left rear of the engine compartment - assuming your car is later - early car is somewhat similar regradless - from there it goes to the rear of the compartment, over to the right, down to the torsion bar housing area, and into the tunnel - pops up through the trunk floor just under the fuel filler tube, and heads to the gauge. AFAIK it's a continuous piece of wire from the connector to the gauge with no junctions so you should have continuity between those two points.

Oil pressure switch wire........
The green/white wire from the oil pressure switch (F1) goes to T14/9 (pin #9 @ 14-pin connector) located left side of the engine bay. The factory wiring diagram indicates no connector between 14-pin connector to the instrument panel. Use a continuity tester or a test light to evaluate this line.

Runs as a continuous wire through the tunnel harness from the gauge to the male 14 pin connector in your ‘77.
Check your 14 pin connector for corrosion. I
