Please help me determine if I need new Shocks on early 911..
I have a 72 911 T Targa
Front and rear shocks were replaced in 1987 with KYB parts. There are around 30k in miles since 1987. So, would it seem to make sense that I'm up to replace both front and rears? When I hit bumps, I do get some loudish thuds.... If I'm replacing what do folks think about the KYB front and rear shocks Pelican sell? They are much more economical then the others, do they perform as well? I would like the car to perform well.... If not what do folks like? I looked but could not tell what kind of fronts I need to use, how can I tell if they have been replaced already with the KYBs? Thanks, Ian |

Well 30K is not necessarily the life expectancy of shocks, but yours could be shot. Personally I prefer Bilstein, but I've not had the experience of both.

What color are the front struts?? Black is usually Boge, white KYB, Red Koni, and yellow Bilstein.

Is it true that KYB stands for Kill Yer Back?
