1981 SC Weber setup identification
I am in the process of taking apart a 1981 targa for an engine rebuild that has a weber 40 IDA conversion, I am looking for help to identify a few parts I am seeing in the engine bay
![]() The engine bell crank has an additional cable attached to a VDO cable that goes to a unit on the front drivers side of the engine bay, that assembly also has an electrical harness that I have not traced yet. Not sure what this part is and could use help figuring this out I would appreciate advice on how to remove this cable from the bell crank, its the last thing I have to disconnect before I can drop the engine. The can above the fuel pressure regulator and gauge is what I assume is an fuel accumulator, any further info on that would be great. Both weber bank rails are attached to it as well as the line that goes to the fuel filter. Finally if anyone can point me to a schematic associated with SC weber carb conversions I would be very appreciative. Thanking you all in advance |

Cruise control.
Just disconnect the entire bracket at the bell crank and move the irreplaceable cable out of the way. Interesting mod, Hard to tell, looks like the bracket is bolted to the bell crank mounting bolt?

Thanks very much Dennis!
I found this link of someone that had a similar issue to me: Disconnecting Cruise Control cable I would still appreciate any input / guides / schematics on converting SC CIS to webers. I have searched and not finding much that outlines all the connections and recommended plumbing fuel / vacuum setup. Thanking you in advance |
