| Need some quick DME box help.
Guys, I am getting ready to weld in a repair panel and I am unhooking the battery. How do I disconnect the DME box? Anyone have any pics of the connection I need to remove? I can get to the box just don't know what or where to unplug???

Thanks for the quick response. Does it have a catch? or does it just unplug?

not sure what a catch is (stupid dutchman hehe) but i think u mean the part that holding the clip right ? You have to push the little black lip on the white connector to unlock it.

You have to undo a clip first. The connect doesn't pull straight out. It swivels/rotates out. Pull on the clip side of the connector first. -Chris

That's Marc Skarshinski's tuning program. I have played with it but I haven't had a chance to actually use it. My name is in the credits but I can't remember why. The other guys did all the work. -Chris

I have the eprom burner now but still lots of other things to do. Will have a go with the program just to read out my current dme for starters and read some more info on it before i try to change anything. Have you heard about an Ruf chip Chris ? some guy here in holland is selling those here for 75 euro,s.

I've found the disconnect is easier to accomplish if you first remove the four 10 mm (?) nuts that hold the DMe unit in-place. Then, you can slightly move the DME to avoid bending the stiff cable too much...and finally you can unclasp the connection as mentioned by Chris and others... --just a bit easier-- Wil Ferch

You aren't lazy enough. Just undo the strap/loop on the cable to give yourself more slack. (The strap is missing in the picture.) -Chris

I got it disconnected and welded in the panel. Before I put the drivers seat back in I will get the part# of the DME. My car has a US spec 3.2 with a Euro DME box. Maybe someone can shed some light on why that is...
