CSV and TTS for dummies
Thought I'd place what I've gleaned from the experts here.
The (Thermal Time switch) TTS and the cold start valve (CSV) both get power from the starter when the starter motor runs. The yellow wire to the TTS (terminal G) is at voltage at start (mine was at 9 v). The yellow wire comes from the starter (connector 15A) and runs to both the CSV and the TTS (same circuit). As the element in the TTS warms up from current flow and or ambient temp, the switch in the TTS creates an open circuit so there is no ground source for the CSV and it should quit spraying fuel. The W terminal of the TTS (bigger terminal with the red/black wire), comes from the other side of the CSV (other than the yellow wire side) as such it should read some voltage even if the TTS is open circuit from heat. When I removed the red/bk wire from the TTS W terminal, and put a volt meter to the red/bk wire, then cranked the starter, I measured 9 v. So the CSV might be okay (9 volts on each side of the TTS). TTS: Thermal time switch on the 1,2,3 side of the chain cover rear of engine CSV: Cold start valve, aka CSI (Cold Start Injector) is at the front of the engine and pokes into the airbox.
