Replacing side marker turn signal Help!

I am trying to replace my side marker turn signals. I read the tech article on Pelican and it says to remove the horn and then you can reach the two 8mm bolts that face inside the car body to remove the lamp.

I cannot figure out how to get a socket or wrench in there and have enough room to loosen the one that is closet to the tire. The other one (towards the front) is behind a metal bracket that I could probably loosen 4 14mm bolts, but not sure if this will move the bracket.

Has anyone done this? Thanks for the help

its an 89

The drivers side I can get one of the 8mm off, but the other is too tight to get in with a ratchet. What appeared to be a quick easy change out has become a much more involved project. Anyone have any ideas or done it before?

Here is the link to the oil cooler scoup which is (should be ) the same procedure.

Passenger side is off. The L shaped bracket had to be removed. Any one have an idea on the drivers side how to get at the front most 8mm?

Bad enough getting them off and then I have to tighten them back ARGH
