Bluetooth radio options for 69 911
I have a road trip coming up that I plan on doing in my 69 911 and I’m trying to figure out the best option to be able to play some tunes through the car stereo.
I know I don’t want one of the car radio transmitters that stick out of the cigarette lighter. I want a true Bluetooth connection straight into the car’s audio system. I have seen some vintage Blaupunkt radios that have been modified to have Bluetooth built in in the past, but can’t seem to find them anywhere. Are there any Bluetooth adaptors that connect straight into the radio? The car has the original Becker radio from the factory. Suggestions would be appreciated. |

Ck with Becker Auto Sound in N.J. About converting your radio to bluethooth. They converted the Becker in our ‘97 Mercedes. It automatically syncs with either of our Iphones.

How about taking a portable bluetooth speaker or even two with you. One speaker for the driver and another for the passenger. The same brand speakers would sync and will play simultaneously. Not super elegant but economical and the sound quality is darn good compared to what your car stereo system could offer.

another option would be something like this https://www.crutchfield.com/S-8Kod0S1CGUT/p_113M1824BT/Kenwood-KAC-M1824BT.html?XVINQ=GLX&awkw=128001083305&awat=pla&awnw=g&awcr=66951761305&awdv=c&awug=1014485&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI68q95-6v6wIVd_LjBx2YYgAcEAQYASABEgIUzPD_BwE -- if you're OK disconnecting your speakers from your Becker (for the trip), it's small and easily hidden (under a seat) and would bluetooth stream whatever you'd like.

I’ve got the kenwood unit mentioned above and love it. The control panel easily fits in the ashtray and the amplifier easily fits behind the wooden foot board on the passengers side.
It also allows you to play the audio from an existing radio thru the amp, in case you want to listen to the radio for some reason.

I use a FM bluetooth transmitter in my 74 914. It works very well and even does handsfree calling.

There is a Porsche Classic radio available on Suncoast. That would be the high end of cost. Lots of options. I installed a modern radio about 6 years ago with all the whistles and bells (satellite, CD, bluetooth, multiple USB ports, HD radio, etc.). Crutchfield is a good resource. If your budget allows, probably need to replan your speakers by now. Save all the original equipment, of course, and ensure the installer doesn't cut into your car. Good luck!

Depending on which Becker radio you have, early models had an input plug on the back so that a cassette player could be attached, as does my Becker Europa. The Becker auto sound group in NJ sells an adapter for this port that allows a microphone connection from your phone, I plugged an aftermarket bluetooth receiver (link below) into that adaptor and it works like a charm. Everything is hidden.

![]() all you have to do is find a Bluetooth Adaptor that is compatible to your existing head unit and connect it. super easy. the BT makes the connection instantly, there is nothing hanging off your cig lighter or anything else, you cant even tell there is a BT option. the unit stays looking the same as all the wiring and connections are in the rear of the deck. i hid my microphone so you cant really tell there is a microphone anywhere. 10.00 and the solution. cant go wrong.
