Aftermarket Wheels
Hey All,
I know this subject has been beat to death, but lets beat it some more. Now that Euromeister seems to be out of the game in the US, it looks like our choices for aftermarket 17 inch wheels is between Linea Corse and Maxlite. I've got an 87 Targa and need new wheels. New Fuchs are out of the questions price wise. What are your thoughts between the Maxlites and Lineas? Thanks.

I know nothing about the Maxlite, but I own a set of 17" Linea Corse's that are on the car. Really like them. Appear to be very good quality.

I have a set of 16in maxilites on my ‘89, I think they are great. My Fuchs needed to be refinished and I was about to pull the trigger on that job....and then I won a set of maxilites at Rennsport. The Fuchs are now in the garage to be refinished another day.
Maxilite quality seems great. To the untrained eye they look identical to Fuchs. When you look closer you can see that the petal shape is a bit different. Good enough for my driver! |

I have a set of Linea Corse aka Rota Fox. 17 inch. I got them at the very beginning when Moses entertained a small group buy batch. The set has served me well since then, even with some track use. The wheels are on the heavier side but for the price I paid, I don't care.

I decided to give my 80 SC some new shoes > 17" Fuch's 7's front 8s in the rear . Yeah they are pricey - but they are beautiful.

I have the Linea Corse (Rota Fox) in 17x9 and 17x11. They're a couple lbs heaver than nice forged wheels, but the price was unbeatable and they offer the RSR finish. I'd be interested in seeing a side by side comparison with Maxlite.

, You can also order custom widths and ETS which makes fitment a lot easier both are light and strong for a 3. 0 or 3.2 SC/Carrera i'd want to keep wheels to 7 or 8 x17 front and 8 to 9.5 x17 rear w/ tires no bigger than 215/45 & 245/40 There is a nice set of Braids in the for sale section

I've always liked the look of BBS LM wheels but do they work on Carreras? I assume not without a lot of work?

It depends on the specific wheel and tire specs

Post Pictures of the Right Stance Like Bill said, it's up to you to order/find them in the correct spec and they will/won't bolt right up. Marek (pictured in the link) ordered his wheels direct from BBS. I purchased my CCWs from a fellow enthusiast. (also LM-esque design)

Why not look into Augment wheels. They do some of the best recreations I've seen and also Porsche look wheels. You can literally have almost whatever you want at what size you need or prefer.

If the quality is up to par, they are worth the money IMO.

Yes, I agree with you. From what I have heard the quality is great and similar money if you were buying other high end wheels like Kinesis, etc..

Don’t like the looks of the 17”s.
And they made the 16x9 a whopping 3.5 lbs lighter than the old ones? ![]() I weighed my OEM Fuchs and they were 6.5 and 7.6 kilograms for 7 and 9”. The new 9” weighs less than the old 7”? Am I missing something here?

Yes indeed. I'm on a budget. Apparently Wheeldude and Linea Corse might be out of the picture now too. I've tried emailing, calling and texting Wheeldude....nothing but crickets. The Maxilites in 17 inch that would fit my car look terrible. They've got a black inner lip vs polished. Ugh.

If I was in the market and on a budget that rules out OEM, Linea Corsa would certainly get my attention, in 17 inch.
Easier to find tires for. They seem to be a bit heavier but lots of good comments here from Pelicans that have them.
