Rust Question
Just replaced my hood strut with one of the click type sold by our host. I would like to find the Porsche engineer who figured that piin plus cotterpin mounting idea. What a pain.
In looking around at the mounting point, I noticed some rodent nest stuff in the large hole next to the hood strut mounting. Evidence of some rust at the bottom of this area. Can someone tell me if there is a simple fix or is this pull the fender to work on it? Pic attached. ![]() ![]()

The little bastards get into everything then they pee all over destroying everything. Unfortunately that area is inner fender wall removing fender will not give you access. It’s a good place to shoot some cavity waX/ cosmoline/ fluid film.

Thanks. So try to wire brush it or something like that? The area where the hood strut connects and that inner area just look a little iffy.
Is there somewhere I could go for a schematic drawing showing the construction of that area?
