Can a T come with an E engine?
Just bought a 70 911T. Here is the original service binder from Brumos. According to the Redbook that’s an E engine in a T. Engine stamp matches. Possible? Hoping to get a Kardex or I’ll order a COA.

Nope, 6=cyl, 1=T, 0=1970. I think that is a mistake in red book. Check type #911/xx

Would not be the only mistake in the Red Book.

Early 911 Porsches T, E, S, models signified engine performance options, not body models. So if the data tag under the front hood says its a 911-T it came with a T motor.

A '70T would have Zenith carbs and cast iron cylinders. A '70E would have MFI and Biral cylinders. What engine is in it now?

6108676 is type 911/07 911T 2.2 for North America manual transmission
The 610xxxx range of engine #'s was really broken up with two sets of ranges for 911/07 and the 911/08 sandwiched between them. The Red Book has so many errors that I have never bought it. Hopefully the upcoming Authenticity book by Brett Johnson will be much better.

I prefer Jürgen Barth’s Porsche Book to the Red Book because of all the mistakes. It’s just rare and hard to find but an amazing resource.

Thanks. Clearly looks like a T engine. Only issue was the red book error it seems.
