Reinstalling alternator on 1985 911 3.2L
Any special tricks? I only have about 1/8 inch clearance between the bottom of the alternator and the crank pulley - does that sound about right?
Thanks! |

the clearance is very tight. Sounds right to me. I'm pretty sure mine's about the same.

Steve's right. 1/8" is all you get.

If it helps, look at my alternator / regulator R&R article on the Pelican Tech section write ups...specifically for 84-89 Carrera's, but applicable to a wider range of cars, too.
