ROW SC Side Repeaters (markers) question
When replacing the side repeater is there a gasket/seal/glue you need or should the light just stick in the hole and stay? When changing my lightbulbs the old one appears to have been stuck to the car with something black? Any help appreciated.

Small black gasket
I ave a set of smoked side repeaters here and will post pics later or tomorrow. Iirc , the front smaller hole is a latch , and the assembly is pushed rearward a couple of mm before it pops out . |

Here are pics of the back side .
It’s hard to tell , as they’re smoked versions , but there is a small black gasket all the way round . I believe the designers intent with the gasket was to stop Paint damage due to any movement of the side repeater , and to trap just enough water behind it to ruin a 3 hour long detail job within Seconds of driving . The tab for the smaller hole latches in place , while the tab for the larger wire hole holds it in place . Many have broken the small front tab installing or removing , and the pair I have here have a small tab broken on one . In fact , I remember once buying a different set from a vendor at a show in England and breaking one installing in the parking lot ![]() I suspect yours has been broken at one time and held in place using black body sealer . Common part used on many euro cars , so alternative sources can be found on vw golf etc though most used originals made by hella iirc . ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by ian c2; 11-03-2020 at 03:38 AM.. |

Thats just the info I was looking for I ordered new ones, the inside cables seems to have some rubber sleeve on it, any idea what that part would be called? its pretty gross when I pulled it out of the vehicle.
