Brake Issue. Pedal not fully returning

Hi,

Took my Mongrel (84 911) for a drive and noticed it not accelerating like it should. Brake Pedal felt stiff and very little travel. I used my foot to pull the pedal towards me and car accelerated fine.

I assume it a master Cylinder issue or booster.
Fluid level looks fine.

Any suggestions on where to start and what to look for?

thanks in advance,

geoff

found it.

A speed bleeder looks like it has failed. I was lazy. I raised the car and checked each wheel and sure enough can see one side has been leaking. The cap is off the speed bleeder which along with the blistered paint on strut was a give away.

I am surprised. Depending on who you read, they cant fail or fail later on. Mine has only lasted 6 months.

I've had speed bleeders on my SC, which was a dual purpose daily driver/DE/race car, and now is track only. Maybe 20 years? Never had a problem with the bleeders. When screwed all the way in, don't they form a seal just as the stock bleeders do? If it wasn't tight enough to seal, well that's different.
