Binding Neatrix bushings?
I installed new Neatrix spring plate bushings several hundred miles ago. Initially the ride height was about 26" and then settled to about 25". It seems as if everytime I jack the car up, it takes many miles for the suspension to settle back down to 25". Is that normal?
After unsucessfully looking all over town for a QUALITY Silicone lubricant, I ended up installing the bushings dry. I read Smart Racings instructions after the fact, and they mention that the Neatrix bushings need to be fitted or they will have a tendency to bind. Did I screw up or will the bushings finally settle in after several thousand miles? Would anybody like to share their Neatrix experiences? Besides the apparent binding, my new revamped rear suspension has been a huge improvement.

Neil:
I have had my rear apart twice in the last year and half. First for 26mm torsion bars and Neatrix bushings, then a couple of weeks ago for 28s. I never had the suspension settle much at all. Don't know why yours is unless the bushings are REALLY binding. However, that having been said, some are of the opinion that the Neatrix bushings should be glued to the spring plate and then fitted to the tortion bar tube. I went with making sure that the spring plate moved up and down with a fair amount of force with the cap tightened down. I used moly grease (CV) as I didn't want the silicon grease getting all over the torsion bar with the bearing grease. Some have said that dino based greases slowly break down the rubber. No squeaks so I guess there is no binding. Good luck.

,
Neil, I just finished installing bushings today and drive the car around to see how it handles. I have got 24.25 on the fender reading and I am going to adjust the 36MM thin nut to attempt to raise it up to as close to 25 as I can get. I know that the new bushings are stiff but I would bet that after some time they will wear and will shift easy. I did not glue mine in and I don't see any reason to glue them. I know there is a whole new thread on that I am sure. If I were a betting person I would say that your problem is something other than the bushing. You only have to think about all the torque that is on the spring plate with the weight of the care and I am not sure it is not possiable for the busing to hang up. Sorry about the long drawed out theory. Let me know what you find out.
