Can't make a solid proposal without knowing all of the details that affect the color. You still have a lot of holes and it seems as if you're currently in a bit of a mish/mash state.

Just based on what you've said, I vote Signal Yellow but, that would likely change if you filled in the blanks.

Love Leaf Green, Tangerine is always nice, hate viper green. If you don't like Med Blue Met. I don't get that you have Gemini in the running.
Ok you made me change my mind. What I am after is the true 72 trim package which is with the silver/chrome window trim. But with turn signals, horn grills, brake lights, rear grill and emblems in black.

See below for some pics of a viper green '72. My car will look like this, but with SC flares and RSR wheels.

I like your leaf green.

I'm considering a color like this for my next early 911 project.
Not sure what the color is, but it's pretty cool to me.

Out of the choices you gave - Leaf Green for me. But the green I like is Irish Green.

Signal Orange with the bright trim would look great.

Leaf is dull, Viper too wanna-be, Never liked Tangerine, it's not red, it's not orange.

Go Signal Orange.

Those are all great colors.

I like signal orange, leaf green, conda green, signal yellow in that order.

356 grey-blue also nice.

IMHO, the color selection has a lot to do with the personality you are trying to present. If you desire something bright. bold, attention getting then Conda or Viper Green or Signal Orange should be your short list. If you want something more subtle, then consider Leaf Green. Gemini Blue is classy. I personally lean towards Leaf Green.

Orrrrrr

Just a little personality, how about Aubergine? Those other colors, I like the green, are just like every other early car. Similar to Fuchs, everyone has them, so follow the lead cow orrrrrrr???

My 72 I've had for 22 years and 248,000 miles

Wow, you are the master patch man now, and I mean that in all admiration of your skills.

What ever color you choose, it's going to be a nice car no matter what.

Small hard to see car, used mostly in fair summer weather, I'm sticking with my vote of Signal Orange.

I'm a fan of Talbot Yellow (a later year color 1976-1980), but not on your short list. Black accents needed to snap this color into focus otherwise a bit bland or pale.

I think the people that like "color" will like any of your choices.

The gray/silver crowd have lots of other cars to salivate over.

Well then,,,,that settles it:

Leaf Green and Signal Yellow, my 1&2 choice.

Done right, the original Metallic Blue is a really great color. My friend's targa was 324.

But I don't think it' the right color for your "gentleman's hot rod" look. The signal colors are great, same with Viper. But I think if it were mine I'd go with Light Yellow. Great contrast with the black trim you are talking about. Or maybe the 914 Chrome yellow...

I know they're not on your list but Albert blue is an amazing color and so if Glacier blue. My dad has cars in both colors and they're both stunning. Viper and Signal Orange are both awesome colors too.

Well it looks like Signal Orange has won!!!! I can't believe it, I have been going back and forth for the last few years trying to pick between Tangerine and Viper Green. And poor Viper Green is barely a blip on the poll. I would have never guessed this. Nor would I have guessed that Leaf Green would come in number two!

Well, I will take Signal Orange to the next level and order some sample paint to review it in person.

I have a very good understanding of what Tangerine and Leaf Green look like in Person.

I will post the sample colors when I get them to see what everyone thinks.

Thank you everyone for voting!

Not on your list but check out Glacier Blue or Glasur Blau code 0326.

It’s a 1972 color
But rare.

Too many cars are viper green these days.
Not too unique anymore.
About once every couple of months you'll see one for sale on Bring A Trailer.

I agree that signal orange is a winner.
You won't be disappointed.

I love the responses.
Half of us said a color NOT ON HIS LIST LOL.
-Or said, "I know you said you don't like XXX, But XXX."
-Or, "I know these aren't on your list but XX or YY.
-Or, "I know you like ZZZ, but there are too many ZZZ out there.
-Or, "Those colors are too bright for what you are doing, so choose RRR instead" And posts a pic of a color that is not only brighter but is in a family he hasn't included!
-Or, "what about tires? Which tires will you choose as that will affect my choice"

And of course, all presented with pics of the color in a non calibrated light probably taken with an automatic white balance camera and displayed on non calibrated monitors!

Too funny LOL.

Why not black???

I keeed!
