Please Read Before Voting - Color Choice - 1972 911

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to pick a color and I thought for fun I would see what the brain trust has to say about this.

Before you vote please consider the following:

1. The color is for a 1972 911
2. The 911 will have a "S" Front Bumper
3. "S" Rubber Trim all around
4. Steel rear bumpers w/chrome bumperettes
5. Turn signal trim, horn grills, tail light trim, rear grill and rear emblems will be black. Window trim will be chrome.
6. Will have h4s with chrome rings
7. It will have SC Flares in the back
8. With 7 & 8s RSR Finish w/Pirelli P7s 205/50 & 225/50
9. Keeping true to 72 available colors
10. Original color was Metallic Blue (I don't like this color)
11. Undercoating will be color matched
12. Black interior w/hounds tooth BF-Torino Le Mans Seats
13. Single small rectangular chrome mirror on drivers side.

And below are the best examples of the colors I could find....

Leaf Green

Gemini Blue

Signal Yellow

Tangerine

Conda Green

Viper Green

Signal Orange

........... Now you can Vote based on the above!!!

Always liked the leaf green, just a bit subtler than the other greens and less common.

I like the Viper green. I also think you should reconsider the black window trim. Bright trim is much more stunning.

Noted for sure. I'm not 100% set on black trim. I am however 100% set on Black Horn Grills and Turn Signal Lens trim as I don't like the chrome in these locations.

Are these the only options you're looking at or are you open to all 72 colors?

If you want to turn heads, get thumbs up and have random people approach you when stopped, orange is king.

Yes, these are the only colors I'm considering... There are even more that I like but I needed to narrow it down...

I voted for Signal Orange, but like the original color not given as a choice almost as much.

It was originally the Blue Metallic which I believe is 324... It is darker than Gemini Blue.

On page 1 and 2 of my project build thread we discuss the color with some pictures of from the color book and on page 2 there is a big photo of a blue metallic car partially in sun and shade, it looks pretty good. Unfortunately, when I bought my care the only blue left was hidden away under the dash and deep in the wheel wells, etc.

I Think...

Signal Yellow is a winner!!!
It's one of the most striking of the era and it's not played out like some of the other colors.

That's my $0.02.

Cheers, Louie

But you want chrome headlight trim and chrome rear overriders. What about the rear grill and door handles? Chrome S rocker trim or T/No trim?

Can't make a solid proposal without knowing all of the details that affect the color. You still have a lot of holes and it seems as if you're currently in a bit of a mish/mash state.

Just based on what you've said, I vote Signal Yellow but, that would likely change if you filled in the blanks.

Love Leaf Green, Tangerine is always nice, hate viper green. If you don't like Med Blue Met. I don't get that you have Gemini in the running.

Might look weird having a mix of bright and black trim no matter the paint color. Have you any example pictures of cars like that?
