Looking for Plans on Octagon Rotisserie

Does anyone have the plans/spec to a Octagon Rotisserie?
I think Restoration Design may have put one out before.
I would appreciate your input.

Found one for a VW Bus...

Coolio. A roll your own work station. Great idea.

Takes up so much space it’s borderline ridiculous

Louie you can come check out and measure the ones we did. A little better mounting in my opinion than the restoration design one

I used Restoration Design's plan. However I did not weld in the car to rotisserie mounts. As you build the frame it could tweak a tiny bit here and there. If the mounts are welded solid they may not match up to your car when you try to install it.

My thought was to get the car and rotisserie positioned first, then build and install the mounts.

This also will double as my dolly. I designed the lateral pieces to be removable if needed.

I could never fit a full length rotisserie in my limited garage space.

I saw another design I really liked. It was a dolly for the car that you could flip on either side. I think I might choose that rout. I will try to locate the pictures.

Found it. I liked this design due to its size and flexibility. You can use it as a dolly. Then when you want flip it, simply insert the side pieces and rotate. They can be used on either side as well.

My only concern would be when flipped on the side it does not seem to be supported like the octagon would be.

Here are some plans w/different dimensions that I compiled from a few different Pelicans when I built my own a bunch of years ago. Some of the dimensions seem wacky because they were converted from metric to imperial units. I found this tool to be extremely useful and am able to rotate it myself with relative ease - so great to have easy access to all sides of a stripped tub.

I made a jig to get the frames to match. Took a little longer but It sure was easy to weld up once finished.

OP asked about octagon rotisserie and he presents this one as if it’s superior “real deal” and it’s not. Just pointing out the flaw in those type of rotisseries. Ask Emory why he doesn’t have a shop full of those type of rotisseries. I don’t think it’s out of line to say it’s ridiculously big.

Like that design also! Especially like that it attaches in the shock towers as opposed to the bar cover area as sometimes that's an area where you're doing a fair amount of work.

Great Feedback!!!

Thanks to All.

I will take NathanBS up on his offer and go check his out.
I especially like the removable hoops on a Car Dolly.

My las Rotisserie was taken/stolen by a family member.

I have a few extreme projects coming up, so I need to build one and try to make it universal 911/912/G body.

All I have right now is my car dolly with aircraft casters. I was thinking of modifying it, but its proven too useful as it is.

Cheers All!!!

Louie

I built the Fishcop style. It worked out great.

Project Minne - A Saga of a 72.

It has also held up a 77 and is currently holding up a 68 during a friends restoration. I
