sticky throttle in 94 911
I have a GREAT 84. But latly, the throttle, gas pedal does not always return to correct idle, even as high as 1800. If i "goose " the throttle, it returns to normal. I have checked the linkage seems fine. and the spring at the carb looks good, but it is original. is there a spring at the foot plate? or maybe beef up the spring at the carb ( actually flue inj box
Thanks for any ideas)

There is nylon bushings on the throttle petal, they break down
At the side of the trans there is bushings on a swivel with a rod going up to the top of the motor. Top motor plate has 2 bushings in the swivel plate There is a return spring from the bottom of the intake to the previous mentioned lever on top of motor. All bushings are available in nylon or bronze There is the short length rod to the throttle body, no replaceable bushings |

bad bushings in the tunnel can also contribute to this behavior.

The throttle cable on my ‘90 C2 was left hanging and was kinked when the engine was removed for service. Cable replacement solved the problem.

well, I finally fixed it. The linkage at the transmission was loose and sticky. I removed the bolt that tied the two rods together, a bit of geese and then tightened the bolt up. Now all is fine

Wow same day fix!
Lubricate the throttle shaft and check that switch closes when gently returning to closed throttle. |

I'm dealing with this stuff right now as well. The bushings in the bellcrank on the trans are bad (easy fix) and the bushings on the plate on top of the motor are bad (very not easy fix). Getting that top plate out without dropping motor or removing intake is going to be a *****.
