Passenger side grip install

Well, I actually have my better half loving the 911, but gets a bit carsick when we hit the twisties with nothing to hang onto. So to keep her interest (especially with the future investments &#128521, I’m considering mounting a handle above the passenger door so she has something to hang onto.

Has anyone done something like this? Before I go removing the headliner to see what’s available, am hoping for some input if possible. My guess is that a bracket will have to be welded in, but hope otherwise. Suggestions appreciated.

Some of the works rally cars in the 60s and early 70s had such a handle. It looks shockingly similar to a Alfa Romeo sprint part of a similar vintage

She should have the door handle on the right side. what about building somethings that sandwiched between the seat base and chassis and extends up to give her a similar positioned handle on her left? that would be much easier that pulling the headliner and welding stuff to the roof and burning off all the paint.

Subaru BRAT style.

I'd go dash handle over a roof handle for ease of installation. Something like the toyta handle might work.

I've had the same issue with my wife. I have told her that when we're cornering, she should push herself back into her seat using her feet on the floor board. It helps a lot, no installation required.

Good luck.

On my 85 the door has a arm rest and handle that my wife uses. She set the seat to where she can brace her foot against the firewall and hold on with her right hand. And she knows when the come to a curve it is time to hold on.

It was funny hearing her telling her lady friends about a trip in the wonderful Arkansas roads. Instead of looking at pretty trees she is watching the road for the next turn and bracing.
