Engine/ Chassis Number 1971T Verification
The engine is out and at the machine shop for my 1971T. I'd like to verify it is original to the car. Based on older books, it's within the range of the model year but I'd like to be certain before going through the expensive rebuild process. I've called PCNA & PCA and they were of no assistance. Is there someone on here that can help to verify? Previous owner supposedly had obtained a COA but he can't find it now. Any help is appreciated.

With the PCNA and PCA dead end, you may have the only information that is available - meaning it is in the correct range. Original window sticker or original maroon owner's booklet seems the only definitive sources and I'm guessing you don't have those. There is the KARDEX option which is a copy of the original 'build sheet' from PORSCHE, but I believe they are not available for a 71MY. Would recommend doing a search on the EARLY S REGISTRY forum...tons and tons of info on the KARDEX...one guy there has been a great resource in getting those for the MYs they are available to him.
