Door seal replace
I've checked previous posts and can't find any info. I am planing on replaceing the door seal on a 89 cab. Just looking at it, it looks like a real pain in the butt. Has anyone done this perticular model. Any info would be appreciated

This seal does't seem to be glued in place. looks like the threshold and other parts need to be removed first

this is not complicated. the seal fits into the channel at spots.. when you remove the old one you'll see how it fits.. I don't have a cab.............. Ron

I'd like some info from someone who has done this replacement. It is more involved than it looks

Do a search on past postings, I just posted all the detail on solvent and glue about a month ago.
It's not a hard project just takes a little time to get all the glue, did mine about 8 weeks ago. I'll search for the post. Bill W. EDIT: OK I lied, I can't find the old post either so tomorrow I'll do a write up on the chemicals I used, it's very easy but use a PLASTIC putty knife to scrape out the old glue after it's been softened w/ the solvent. Very easy job. EDIT #2: found it on Rennlist under "Door Gasket Install Hints" I just did this on my '88 Cab. 3M has a solvent called oddly enough "General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner" P/N 051135-08984 made of Naphtha, Aliphatic, Xylene and Ethylbenzene. I used it on an old wash cloth and used a small PLASTIC putty knife to scrape the old rubber adhesive. Get the channel completely clean, then dry. 3M also has "Super Weatherstrip Adhesive" in both black and yellow (I used black). I think both products are sold at Autozone and Pep Boys, though I bought the solvent through the vendor I bought the gasket/seal from. HTH, Bill W.
