Oil Line Rubbing on Tire?

This summer I upgraded and redid the suspension system on my 76. I promptly got the car height adjusted, aligned and corner balanced (a few months ago). Flash forward to a couple of weeks ago and I noticed a weird flapping noise at low speed. I check it out and the tire seems to have been wearing down the oil line. I tried rearranging the line, but as you can tell, it is still scraping the tube. Solutions, upgrades, tips?

Move the hoses so they lay atop one another and secure with the appropriate clamp.

Or wrap the outer hose with nylon spiral wire loom covering. Really should be rerouted for best outcome, however.

I noticed my 76 has some quirks. This is one of them, the other is the doors have the knob to lock and unlock the door from the inside like was introduced in 77.

If I recall correctly the clamps for the lower chassis rail and that location are different 911 207 237 00 and 911 207 303 00 - can't tell from the picture, but that may make a difference.

And yes, some of us have had to put a few cable ties in place for a while until the hose gets used to the proper cant.

GAR-

Looks like your fat tires combined with the odd location of your oil lines has caused this issue.

Better photos will help determine how to correct this.

Re-making the Oil Hose to run up and over the wheel well will certainly correct this....

John2244-

Looks like your Oil Lines need a little help.

Alas, he had violated the first rule of asking for help here: what model 911 are we looking at? A fairly early one? It would also have been useful if he had identified which wheel well we are looking at. I don't recognize it. Nothing like what all the other pictures show.

My best guess is front left (or maybe right). None of what is shown looks like an oil line to me. For sure the lower tubular stuff isn't oil lines - too small to be held with an Adel clamp. The top one looks more like a hose for windshield squirter reservoir filling.

And I don't see any obviously worn marks, but that may just be the photo.

Let's have model year and location.

I did identify the model year as a 76 in my initial post and follow up post. I did not include that this is the rear passenger side until someone raised doubt on whether or not this may be the oil lines or not.

If you zoom in on the picture, right above the rear, passenger tire, the line has a flat shiny part where it has worn down.

Other information that might be useful is this 76 used to have air conditioning but somewhere along the way some of the components were removed.

Thanks for the help!

GAR-

If you want our help you must show us more photos.

Your first and only photo does NOT show the full wheel well with oil hoses & oil tank.

These oil hoses should run along the wheel well, and what you show appears to go into the chassis and appears to be A/C hoses covered in undercoating.

Where exactly are the hoses you "re-arranged" ??

Elephant racing sells an up and over oil line set. I needed them on my SWB 911 for similar issue.

If that picture is the rear passenger side - the front of the car is to the right. The way I see it, it looks like your tire/wheel is installed on the wrong side of the car based on what the tread pattern looks like. Installed in that fashion - that tire pulls water into the center tread instead of pushing water away.
