options for AFR meters ?
I want to fine tune my CIS just for a hobby and check a few things more than anything. Before messing with it i have been looking at AFR meters and it just too expensive for me to drop that kind of coin on something i will use once every 5 years or so . Innovate is quite pricey and especially after i convert to Canadian and ship.
Has anyone found any useful options for the occasional use ? they have narrow band kits on Aliexpress but i always thought we needed a wideband. Anyway just thought i would ask if anyone has come up with anything. Again its not for mounting in my car, Just if i start playing with CIS i have something to check with Thanks

I went with this one in my SC. I didn’t want another gauge or to deal with running cables from rear to front. The interface is Bluetooth. Pro tip- there’s a lot of EMI in the engine compartment. I had to move the unit as close to the firewall as possible and as far away from my MSD, coil, etc or the Bluetooth connection would drop.

Mine is mounted onboard made by 14point7 I like having it there so if I feel or hear anything unusual in the engine I can look down to give me some idea what things are doing.
BTW Canadian company and I think his name is Alan. Good guy to work with.

I'd be very careful... I suggest sticking with something that has a bit of a pedigree. AFR can be very important, and I have seen plenty of issues with faulty readings.
And there have been numerous reports of experiences with counterfeit oxygen sensors in supply chains (Bosch, NTK et cetera). A group of of my friends have been using the excellent Ballenger Motorsports AFR500 with the production grade NTK oxygen sensor they offer. A few of us have experience with the NTK calibration grade sensor they offer. Our application is racing. I imagine one could share the Ballenger AFR with a group of friends, each having: an appropriately-placed bung their own oxygen sensor maybe their own harnesses. Kind of a "tool sharing" arrangement. Or one could rent out an AFR500 to a trusted circle of friends... et cetera If one were to go that route, it would be important to remove one's sensor when it is not being used-- plugs for the bungs are inexpensive and easy to find. I have found Ballenger to be very supportive and professional. They even offer a lab grade NTK $sensor for those with a need for that level of accuracy and precision.

I ran into issues with what I am pretty sure turned out to be a phony Bosch I bought on E-Bay for use with an AEM wideband set up I used previously. So whatever one buys, I'd consider buying oxygen sensors only from the supplier of the controller/gauge.
