PMB Performance Caliper Rebuild.... Tip Top!
So I’m a pretty serious DIY guy and don’t normally job out tasks....especially tasks I can do myself.
When I picked up this 11 year stagnant barn find Targa, it immediately added rebuilding brake calipers to my to-do list. 2 of the wheels were locked up with seized brakes and the other two barely moved. ![]() Out of fear of the binders being unsalvageable, I started searching for some better cores suitable for rebuild. I found a pair of fronts and a pair of rears from 2 different members here for a fair enough price. I ordered up some rebuild kits and started reading and watching tutorials on the process. I have built plenty of modern calipers, but I wanted all the info I could get before starting the project. In my research I noticed several members mentioning PMB so I checked them out. The pricing seemed insanely affordable so I decided to free up time for other tasks and let them rebuild my calipers. After talking to them on the phone, they informed me that essentially any core is rebuildable as long as they are structurally intact. Worst case scenario is I would need new pistons. So I shipped off my the calipers that I considered to be only worth garbage scrap or paperweights. Just shy of 2 months later (longer than the 3-week estimate, but that’s ok I wasn’t in a hurry), these insanely sexy and perfect calipers arrived. I can’t imagine a better experience. Cost me roughly $700 with new steel (not stainless) pistons. I strongly recommend. This being said, I have 4 excellent condition take off calipers for a 3.2 for sale. Supposed to be in bolt on ready to use condition but I will even include fresh rebuild kits. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

They look good, it is tricky to get the plating to take in the lower areas. They did a good job.

I'm very happy with them... and freed up a lot of time for me. Plus I can't plate them... I would have been powdercoating them.

If you like their brakes (as I do), have them restore your entire car.

Eric’s place does a great job on these calipers. You can’t do everything they do any more economically than they do.

Glad you have had a good experience. Many have not. Have you installed them and driven the car with them yet?
Cheers

Eric and PMB did my SC front calipers. They look good and work well.
