Transmission Rebuild Class

I have an 87 Carrera and was really hoping to learn more. Is anyone aware of a G50 transmission rebuild class, sort of like one of the engine rebuild classes, that walks you through rebuilding your own transmission with a group of like-minded individuals.

I've done a search and haven't found anything. Not in a hurry but certainly interested.

Many thanks

I took a course back in the 80’s with Jerry Woods and Bruce Anderson, but that is long gone. Don’t know anyone doing it.

An exploded diagram may be intimidating to some, however most manual transmissions work on the same principle. There’s some good animation on YouTube to get an over all idea. Once you see it it’s really rather simple.

You clearly don't understand the depths of my idiocy.

In the age of youtube, classes are falling by the way side. If you have the fortitude and time, plunge right in with your gearbox. Between youtube and this forum, all your questions are answered.

I personally find the tools to be the most difficult part. Backlash measurement tools are non existent.
