GA heat ain't like CA heat......

Went for a short but semi spirited drive today. Ambient temp 88F. Usually my ride gets up to thermostat heat and drops when my coolers get passengers. Then drops below Thermostat temp....not today. Had to toss on my cockpit activated fan.....cooled it but GA temps MOFO HOT.

Yup...just warming up...wait till late august after a 30 minute rain shower.
Thats why I love the mountains of north Ga... We simply don’t get that hot during the day and still drop down in the 50s at night

Just wait until you get a shower, walk outside and immediately need to take a shower again.

Yeah, this is actually pleasant right now as the humidity has been low (at least around here). It was about 90F here yesterday, but the dew point was only 58F or so. That's very nice. Wait until the dew points get into the low-to-mid 70s. Brutal.

Joe Bob, when I was last in GA (Savannah) the heat index one day was 135. Just walking to the car will have you wet with sweat. The AC system will pee out water so fast it looks like a water cooled car with a leak. 99 degrees and 95% humidity is just miserable. I spent a day at Roebling Road and drank 20+ bottles of water and never did need to pee.

Thankfully where Joe and I live on the north side of Atlanta is about 1000 feet elevation as opposed to sea level in Savannah. Atlanta is much more mild than Savannah in my opinion and it always cools down at night.

I’ve still never owned a car with air conditioning...

In Savannah, we ate dinner at "The Pink House" and it was great. The land was deeded to the family by the King in 1771 and it predates the USA and Georgia as a state. I just can't imagine how they lived there with layers of petticoats and all the clothing the Southern Women of the era wore. With no electricity so no fans at all. Of course it is all air conditioned now and really nice.

I moved to AL from IL/IN where you drive your cars in the spring and fall because August is brutal and winter brings snow and salt. Now in AL I get to drive all of spring fall and winter but also summer on the cooler days. The only thing I miss is hitting boost when the temp is below freezing, man that was fun!
Oh an hell isn't full of liberals, they don't believe in hell.

Anybody with money enough to afford petticoats and suits went up to their summer cottages in the mountains and the rest just smelled bad and died of yellow fever. At least that's how it was in Charleston--there were numerous epidemics where 5-10% or more of the population died.

I can't imagine spending one summer in Charleston without air conditioning. When we lived there our house AC died and was out for a week with temperatures not dropping below 90F at night. Even with a portable unit in the bedroom it was absolutely miserable.

I’m in GA...just did an AC delete...puny OEM AC wasn’t much use anyway...as long as the car doesn’t bake in the sun for a few hours before driving, it isn’t too bad. If I get to tracking the car, might consider a cool shirt. That said, 35 years in ATL, and you get used to the humidity.

There was local car show today. They shut down main street. Got there at 3pm for a 4pm starts.....farginbuggerntz. Had to park in a satellite lot. Walked thru.....nothing but 'murcan stuff. One small corner with six MGs with oil pans underneath. Not one German ride.

I'll get there earlier next time. Only 2 bucks to show....saw
grarly betties strutting the stuff.
