G50 input shaft seal install

Hey guys, finally got my new input shaft seal. The old seal had locktite on the outer part of the seal. I’ve searched the forums quite a bit for info on the g50 and couldn’t find much. My understanding is I lightly tap this in, then the guide tube goes back in after. Is that correct? Also, should I add a slight bit of locktite on the outside to prevent leaking? I was told a small amount should be fine, with a little oil on the inner part of the seal to help it go in.

Tape over the mainshaft splines, slide it on, tap in evenly with a smooth tipped long drift and push in the remainder with the guide tube as you tighten the screws. I do dry, no sealer, unless the hole has gouge marks.

No. The seal is the seal.

For anyone looking for info in the future. The input shaft removal tool worked well for me as a tool to seat the new seal. I flipped it around and tapped the seal in with the backside. Worked great
