Griffiths Variable Fan Controller
Finally got around to installing the fan switch and thermo switch over the weekend as it had been sitting here for several weeks while I psyched myself for the task.
Observations: At over 6' and 190# with big shoulders, it was an uncomfortable task. Lots of twisting and stretching under the dash pushing wires and the capillary tube into the smuggler's box. Directions are the best I have run across for installing anything. Found 1 issue that is likely Porsche related as Evap fan connector halves were reversed in terms of M/F. spades. Easily sorted out after proper noodling. I did not install the LED indicator as I wanted to maintain stock look. Opening knob with a Dremel was a matter of whittle and fit until it was a decent slip fit. not too tight or too loose. It took me about 5 hours, start to finish. Lots of cleaning and cleaning up under the dash, in the frunk and smuggler's box. Well worth the $ and time. Fan seems to have a bit higher top speed and thermo switch actually does something now. Griff produces top notch stuff for us DIY types. Next up is a removable device to bring all of the cold air from my Kuehl vent into the cabin and stop cooling the underside of the knee pad. Vent is as far forward as it can be mounted and the dash blocks some airflow that could be cooling the cabin. Some deep noodling going on to solve this. Likely some sort of funnel device.......

He does make good stuff. I replaced mine because the original had failed after all the years. I love the LED light. I can know for certain if the compressor is off or on. That is handy on nicer days when I just want the fan blowing on me and very little AC, ot at the autocross. The switch has a pure off mode for the compressor and I can have the fan on hurricane mode blowing some air, but no compressor running dripping water on the track, and no power loss.
Getting the grommet back in place is the hardest part, or it was for me.
