				Engine Temp.

72 Targa with a fresh 2.7 PMO 40's and manifolds. Ive put about 50 miles on it. Pulled into the garage yesterday and notice paint on the rear license plate panel is blistered. Temp gauge indicating 190. Heat gun confirmed oil console/filter 180/190. Valve covers 200/220. Running the original muffler. Could it be plugged up retaining heat? How can test/check? Any help appreciated... Thanks, Mark. | ||

Do you have a muffler heat shield?

Neither my 72 or 73 have one. Don't believe they came with one?

Maybe it's time or a heat wrap. When you change something upstream, schizzle happens down stream. Either that or change out the muffler that flows and is more cooler...
