Classic Retrofit with under dash setup
I know quite a few people have posted about CR on this forum. I've tried to read through all the threads (but there are a lot). If this question has already been ask, I apologize in advance.
I'm interested in purchasing a 1975 911 that has aftermarket A/C installed. The car currently uses the old under dash setup and there is no center vent available in the car. Has anyone setup a CR system with something similar? Was the air able to be sufficiently angled up to hit the passengers in the face? Did you constantly bump your knees getting in and out of the car? Was the air flow sufficient? I realize that this is an issue that you would face with any under dash setup, but if I used a Griffiths system I could upgrade the blower motor to really increase the volume of air to be pushed into the cabin. I live in Texas with a blistering Summer, so AC is an absolute must. Heat for the car would not be needed and I'm planning on a dual condenser setup. |

Figure out the current ductwork routing for the under dash vents and also use the clock vent option for air in your face.
I believe the under dash system is the same basic dimensions as the knee pads. So likely no problem there.
