still missing

Over the last several weeks I have had a miss or something above 4k. I started to check the normal things and made sure the plug wires were attached and all that. Nothing changed. So I went and put in new plugs. The problem seemed to be gone... not... Again above 4k the car ran like sh.t. So now I was sure that fuel was the problem... replaced the accumulator...fuel filter...took the car over to a very high dollar repair and had the co checked and adjusted... seemed ok... about two days later. The same problem... Now i'm worried... Replaced the cap and rotor, bought new wires and took the car to the guy that works on the things I can't do at home... He has the car all day and when I return he says I might have a plugged cat. The clogged up cat will make your car run very poor at the higher rpm range. Or... you have a broken valve rocker or spring or both. I drove the car home and parked it... The next night I tell my son to come out to the garage we're gona pull the cat and take a look... if thats not the problem we're going to pull the rocker covers and find the bad valve. Pulled the cat. Not pluged.. drove the car aroud the block several times with no muffler...sooo such fun It sounds great. no miss... I know this is gettig long so I will cut to the chase... yesterday I pulled the injectors to check ...If you haven't cleaned your injectors or checked the spray pattern Do it. what a difference. I cleaned them with C.R.C. non chloranated brake cleaner. Remove the injectoer from the engine area. Put the tube down the hole, pinch your finger over the hole and spray away. It may take several times to get the injector to spray the way it should. I put a drop of rubber assembly lube on the o-ring to give it some slip and back in they went. again the car ran great for about an hour. The last straw was to pull the injectors again to see if they plugged up again. well after all this they were clean and sprayed perfect... i sent my son over to get some new Bosch plugs as the last resort.... we had NGK's in. if this isn't it we're done.. my wife is a sweet heart but today is her day and we have been in the garage for hours and her patience is thin. It turned out that two spark plugs were bad and one plug wire was making a bad connection...I know I checked them three times... the new Bosch plugs we put in along with everything else the car halls ass now.
thanks for letting me vent and thanks to everyone on this board for posting . Moral of the story? CHECH THE SMALL STUFF FIRST.
