Hmm, that's interesting. I can get just under 1:50 in the Spec Miata on full-tread R-compounds, and the fast guys are in the mid 1:40's. But I figured the vintage Porsches have the weight-to-power advantage. We're about 2300 lbs and with 120 hp or less (stock motors), and stock brakes with aggressive pads. I wonder if it's the chassis layout and suspension that makes up the difference.

Big question is how fast do you hit your top end on the front side of the track. I know my times vary greatly depending where I wind up 5th....before or after the bleachers. And how fast I am doing when I drop into turn one.

All that has changed drastically as I have changed the gearing, hp and dynamics of my car. Not an option for you guys I know. But like the guys were telling me it is better to be a better driver than buy the time.

Still be interested in how the cars compare. Thanks for the info. Looks like the Miata is a pretty fast car in comaprison for weight and power.

Miata are running treaded Rs right? Are the SOVERN cars allowed R slicks?
