CDI box testing
Hello everyone. What is the best way to test an early 3 pin CDI box that is not installed in the car?

Power it up (+12V to center pin GND to housing), connect a coil to the output and GND, hook up a spark plug to coil output and GND. When you short the trigger pin to GND and release it that should release a spark.

If you have a car that would accept a 3pin, swap out the existing for it and hit the key
