What is this? Engine bay in SC

What are the two items circled? I'm assuming one is a smog bracket of some sort but what about the small thing near the engine mount? I'm trying to remove the bracket and the small round thing is in the way.

You can but you need to plug that hose/pipe because it will make exhaust leak noise

Or you can get an Air Pump and make it right. It doesn't impede the performance at all. Got cars with and without and no performance difference.

When you remove the round check valve an exhaust leak will be created. Most people remove the spaghetti air injection tube along with the valve and plug the ports at the head.

And plug the hole remaining in the tin, once the "round thing" is removed. Jeez I let a lot of road grime into the engine compartment!

What did you plug it with? Ive got the hole in my tins and a surprising amount of debris comes up.

I riveted an aluminum plate over mine. You can also try an expansion plug.

AlKid,

I also used 3 rivets to place a little aluminum below the hole.

Thanks for the link, I checked underneath and the air injection tube is still in place.

The problem is if you want to remove the injection tubes intact, you have to remove the heat exchangers and risk snapping exhaust studs. If you don't care to save the tubes, you can cut them. They are surprisingly easy to unscrew from the heads.
