Question about removing engine wiring harness on a 81 SC

Stripping the car out for paint, I got the harness out over the torsion bar, and notice that there’s a factory Zip tie holding the black large loom to PPPO hole in the tunnel. A little diff than on my3.2.

Also noticed that inside said loom are 2 individual harnesses ( the starter and the engine / turn Sig ).

Wondering if it’s best to leave that tube ( large loom ) on and pull out just what’s in it, or take it off.

We will need some of it, but it’s EFI and total custom going back.
