Turn signal not working properly - HELP

Hi,

Both front left and right turn signal is not working (no light at all) although both rear left and right turn signal flash quickly. However the hazard light for both rear side works properly not front side (no light for front). I have checked the fuse and bulbs and they are ok.

If the relay is the problem, the hazard light should not work at all, right? I don't know what is wrong with it. Please help me on this issue. Thank you.

What year is your car?

Sounds like a wire feeding the front turn signals is disconnected somewhere. You will need to look at the wiring diagram and find where they are common.

Does the correct front turn signal light turn on when the car is stopped, key off when you move the indicator switch to the left or right turn position?

Because the rears work, that should eliminate the relay, fuse and the turn signal switch in the steering column.

probably a wire or grounding issue between those two. Continuity check from the fuse might help isolate it.

Depends on the year, some model years the rear turn signals are on the source side, so not fused. (My SC for example)

Thank you, Harry, Kyle, and Dennis for your helps, and sorry for late response. Too much work and little time to enjoy.

My car is 1989 930. As you suggested, I have checked the gournd (G106) and it appears to be 'good'. I did not see any loosen wire or disconnected one. Continuity check is what I am going to do tomorrow. When the head light switch is on, only the driver side of front marker light is working. Since the hazard signal is working (rear only), the relay is not the issue, right? I don't have a spare relay to test. Thank you again, and have a wonderful day.

I don't think it's the relay. Check the continuity for ground between the turn signal housing and body, or battery -. also at the + contact in the housing and the fuse.

Cheers

Thank you

Hi all,

As you guessed, it was the continuity issue. Now everything is working properly again. Have a wonderful day

Nice. Where was the continuity problem?

PS post a picture of your ride. Always fun to see.

Hi Harry,

Sorry for the late reply. The line from the headlight to signal was the issue. All three lines were disconnected. I am not sure what happened. Thank you for your advice again. Have a great day!!

John
