That colour looks too 'saturated' to me for it to be Gulf Blue, but between the photo, my monitor, and my eyes, it could well be. It could also conceivably be Pastel Blue or Enamel Blue, or some other colour besides.
There is another Gulf Blue listed on Paintscratch - 6603 - which appears different to 328 on the on-line preview. Another one you could check out is 6403 - enamel blue. Pastel blue (R 5012) isn't listed on there, but it could be a possibility.

Another solid blue
How about Mexico Blue. I don't know the code right off but it's an easy one to find.

Farleyd I tried to PM you but it may not have worked. Thats my 1966 912 with paint number 6603 and code 315. Heres some info on early porsche paint codes. The site can be found here; http://www.912registry.org/restore/pcode.htm
Paint Codes Porsche® 912 & 912E Original Paint Code Numbers Exterior Paint Table Use the following list to help check the original exterior color of your car. You may be in for a surprise! Look on the plate on the left-hand door hinge pillar, below the chassis number. Note: For '65-'69 cars, additional codes may be attached to the paint colors listed in the table below. Original paint manufacturers are designated by letters: L=Lesonal G=Glasurit H=Herberts (Now DuPont Herberts) R=all paint manufactures A prefix number 97- signifies that the original paint was 140 degree C / 284 degree F 'baking paint', oven cured with all heat sensitive parts removed. Suggestion: Don't try that at home. Factoid: Colors of Porsches delivered in 1966, by percentage of overall production [as indicated in the October 1967 Christophorus] Light Ivory (23.9%), Polo Red (18.7), Irish Green (14.2), Aga [dark] Blue (8.7), Gulf [light] Blue (4.6), Sand Beige (9.5), Slate Grey (6.9), Bahama Yellow (6.5), Metallic Silver (3.1), Black (3.0), other colors (0.9) For 1976 912Es, the paint number should be on the top of the plate, in a three digit(color code) - one digit(coachbuilder) - one digit(paint manufacturer) format. Some of the paint colors listed below are hyperlinked to a color chip scanned from an original color chart. This is intended for a general rendering only, do not use this to select your paint! You may be able to find the original paint in your car by looking in the trunk, engine compartment, under the upholstery, or other location. Look for original color charts for all years at literature and swap meets. 911/912 Model Year Paint No. Code Paint Name 1964/1965 Standard Colors 6401 615 Slate gray 6402 015 Ruby red 6403 314 Enamel blue 6404 131 Light ivory 6405 111 Champagne yellow 6406 213 Irish green 6407 016 Signal red 1964/1965 Special Colors 6410 610 Dolphin gray 6411 413 Togo brown 6412 313 Bali blue 6413 700 Black 1966/1967 Standard Colors 6601 615 Slate gray 6602 012 Polo red 6603 315 Gulf blue 6604 131 Light Ivory 6605 110 Bahama yellow 6606 213 Irish green 6607 510 Sand beige 6608 310 Aga blue 6609 700 Black 1968/1969 Standard Colors [Color Chart from 5/67] 6801 615 Slate gray 6802 012 Polo red 6803 319 Ossi blue 6804 131 Light ivory 6805 110 Bahama yellow 6806 213 Irish green 6807 510 Sand beige 6808 017 Burgundy red 6809 018 Tangerine Special Order Colors '65-'69 R1007 Signal yellow R1012 Lemon yellow P2002 018 Tangerine R5009 Prussian Blue R5012 Pastel blue R5013 Ultra blue R6001 Signal green R6016 Turkey (Turquoise) green 6821 Medium Ivory 6822 Champagne Yellow 6823 Signal Yellow 6824 Canary Yellow 6825 Crystal Blue 6826 Pastel Blue 6827 Ultra Blue 6828 Golden green 6829 Signal green 6830 Leaf green 6831 Turquoise green 6832 White (Light) grey 6833 Cloudy grey 6834 Beige (Oxford) grey 6835 Olive 6836 Sepia Brown 6837 Cocoa Brown 6838 700 Black 6851 Silver Metalic 6852 Metallic dark green 6853 Metallic Blue 6854 Metallic dark red R7030 Fortuna (Cloudy) grey R8007 Sepia brown 16153 111 Champagne yellow 17656 Lido Gold 17657 Ivory 30736 Maroon 30847 020 Dark red metallic 30868 Burgandy Red 52254 Crystal blue 52300 Blue metallic 62109 Dark green metallic 62162 Velvet Green 62163 Bush (Leaf) green 62164 Sea Green 62165 Lime (Golden) green 62166 Olive 70192 Beige gray 75741 Stone Grey 75742 Grey white 80342 Coffee (Cocoa) brown 95043 Black 96024 Silver metallic 1976 Standard Colors [More paint codes to be added] 305-9-1 Blue 305-9-2 Blue 700-9-1, -2 Black 936-9-3 Silver Metallic 436-9-3 Z6Z6 Copper Brown Metallic Platinum Metallic Burgundy Metallic Emerald Green Metallic 266-9-3 Ice Green Metallic 265-9-3 Oak Green Metallic 304-9-3 Caribe Blue Metallic Royal Blue Shamrock Green 408-9-1? I am the thread starter, could it be that there is 2 Gulf Blue? The sample i received was on the light side. Not even close to the pic of the previous Pelicanhead. Thats the one i want. Is there 328 Gulf Blue AND a 315 Gulf Blue????
Thanks!

Yes, there are 2 Gulf Blues - if you look at the table of colours above, you'll note that colour 6603 (colour option 03 for '66) is Gulf Blue, and the code for it is 315.
Code 328 comes up on Paintscratch as a '72/'73 colour, but I don't know how it compares to the 'other' Gulf Blue. Presumably it wouldn't have a different code unless it was a different colour...?

Two different Gulf Blues were used on early 911s:
1. 66/67/68 Gulf Blue 6603 (the deeper color of Eric's aka SOTERIK car) 2. 72/73 Gulf Blue 328 (the paler color of the "LeMans" movie 917s)
