From left to right at full illumination at dial @ 12 volts:

Incandecent 4 Watt (SWISS via India) / LED White (ETarga) / LED Vintage (ETarga)

That 4 watt has the typical yellow hue of the OEM, much brighter than the OEM 1.7-2 watt blubs. The LED White is, actually white and no blue hue like the past LED want to be white LEDs, even the needles appear brighter. For you OEM/Concours type you will love the LED Vintage, they have the coloration to mimic the incandecent hue, but some reason on my 3.2 it came out a bit green

The Dimmer TEST:

click pic to play video
The LEDs require a minimal current before shut down, but those worried about too much light can dim them to 75/50/25% only the 4 watt blub can still operate at 10% as seen on the video.

Jake aka ETarga is awesome, he sent them right away and the 1 year warranty is a Bonus. Who does that for light bulbs???

I highly recommend ETarga's LEDs!
Oh yeah no cracking open you gauges, Doh too late for me

Honestly, I was not expecting much and anticipated the dreaded LED shadows on the gauges, but to my surprise, it totally filled the gauges adequately like the 4 watt Incadecents and the TRUE WHITE light was actually WHITE and not blue wanting to be white

Are the LEDs "plug and play"? How much were they? And you bought them from a Pelican?

Oh no don't get me wrong, I was getting use to my OEM 4 watt blubs and resolved to the fact that incadecent was the only illumination that will completely fill the gauges until ETarga showed up with his LED's

You can still stay retro/OEM and get better illumination then the oem 1.7-2watt bulbs with ETarga's Vintage LED see the gauge to the right, that is his Vintage LEDs

Good question, I do not know. I was going to ask him but I am sure he will chime in here.

I have no affiliation with him just another Brother Pelican with a fine product for us Afflicted

I'd love to get a cost of these things. I'm really starting to dig them since I slept on it.

Instead of all of bombing ETarga with a million PMs, speak to the people ET and phone home!! Tell us about your product here on the thread.

Draco, did you by chance put the LEDs in your other places in your dash like the heater control panel? We'd love to see what that look like!

Hey guys,

up and running - Thank you for the positive feedback Draco! I do offer them in different colors (blue, red, green) - so on early cars these LEDs in green are awesome for the shabby turn signal indicators. Blue is 'real' blue and is excellent for the high beam indicator. You can actually SEE the indicator when your high beams are on unintentionally.

I am working on LED solutions for tail lights etc but this is just a hobby of mine so developing new bulbs takes time.

I believe a set of 8 clear bulbs covers all of the instruments (please correct me if I am wrong, I only know long hoods).

I will include a blue LED for the high beam and a green LED for the running light indicator in the speedo. This 'illumination' set runs $80 including S&H. Payment possible though paypal or a personal check.

These are plug and play, no modifications needed, it is just like replacing one of the bulbs.

These suckers are sturdy to boot. I have tested them extensively, dropped them on a concrete floor, dunked them in water etc etc, I even drove over one with my 911 and it still worked!! Try that with your original blubs. 1 year free replacement warranty.

Custom sets available as well (i.e. if you want red illumination of white faced gauges I can do that, it looks AMAZING)

Jake

Etarga,
How do your bulbs differentiate from the readily available led's from say Superbrightleds.com?

Jake
Do you, or does anybody, have a pic of the red LED illumination installed on standard gauges?

Jake,
I have a '69 with the "S" gauge package (full instrumentation.) Would you be able to put together a package that includes complete replacement for all gauge bulbs, excluding the alternator lamp?

Your product looks amazing! Thanks for offering it.

-Dan

78SCRSMAN -Mine are not as blue, they are super wide angle LEDs and are flat at the top, thus maximising the distance to the face in the gauge. They are also the very latest technology. Old/ conventional style LEDs are nowhere close to these.

They are made for a 356 gauge, so pretty similar to the gauges in a 911/912.

The 'warm white' / Vintage are my own idea - nobody else in the world offers these. They work great for that vintage look, same 'yellow' tone, yet much brighter than a stock incandescent. Here they are in the tach of my '68 Softie.
